Day 4 AND 5 of Dynamics

Took it easy today. Made sure I had a good breakfast and lunch.

Today’s movements are:

  • Handstand / HSPU
  • Rig Dips
  • Kipping Pull Up
  • Rope Climb
  • Kettle Bell

Warm up was practicing double ups on the rope for about 5 minutes then the Dynamic Stretches (THLBCTI). Then we quickly got into the movements.

I was able to do a wall hand stand on the second try but my right arm gave out half way down the push up part of it.

The next one was dips using the rings. I struggled to stabilize the rings up against my hips but once Michael helped me I was able to do a full shoulder below the elbow dip. I think I did about 3.

The Rope Climb – I didn’t think I was going to be able to learn how to hook my feet against each other to use the rope as a step but to my surprise on my 3rd attempt it clicked and I was able to pull myself all the way up to touch the beam. I’ll admit I used a lot of upper body strength to give myself time to pinch the rope between my legs. Regardless I TOUCHED THE BEAM!!!!! Yea!!!

Then we worked on the assisted band pull ups which was a bit akward because the rubber bands kept sticking to my skin. Also if I know we’re going to do rope climbs, I am going to wear long work out pants and tall socks. I think I got a mild ankle rope burn.

At that time, we decided to learn tomorrows movements which was the squat press and kettle bell swing. Pretty basic stuff, made sure to close my hips and keep my chest up.

Then we decided to do a workout. OMG

Brutal 13:24 for me to complete this routine. OUCH. The pull ups (assisted with a blue then green band) was the hardest. But regardless, I completed it and have officially graduated form Dynamics

Yay for me!
