Day 5 – CrossFit

W.O.D.: Clean and Jerk – 15- 12- and 9

Stacey was the instructor today and the class was very full. We spent about 15-25minutes going over the proper form. Stacey is a great instructor, she is very strict on form. I can appreciate that because I know with out good form or technique you risk injuring yourself and you would not be maximizing your work out.

She fusses at me because I had not taken a break and she didn’t want me to get burnt out. I feel great and wish I had started earlier. I am the only one to blame for that.

Anyway, before we gan I had seen what others had done before from their blog and thought 95lb would be good. One guy did 115lbs. But after the warm up and how Stacey was beating into us good form, I decided that 75lbs would be a good start.

Here are my results:

NOT Rx (of course, I am a newby and I’m ok with that)

15 with 75lbs. (2 x 15lbs and 45lb bar)
9

I did not re-grip, I stopped at on the second round and third round because my form was failing and forearms were burning from the grip.

NOTES: Have to leave ego at the door as it states. One guy, who is apparently one of the best guys, thought he was a bad ass and put 2x45lb plus the 45lb bar and thought he was gonna breeze through it. Then after the second warm up with weights, to check form, he dropped it down to 2x35lbs. Needless to say, he only completed 2 rounds and then left with a little pissy attitude. I don’t know what happened I was too busy worried about my form and the guy was right in front of me.
